Silver Lake Cafe & Bar

Music was 50s 60s 70s .The prices are very high but there was no one else in the restaurant. Just two gals working. I saw a review that said best burger ever so I couldn't pass it up. Normally I would not spend over 20 on a burger and fries . But it was the best burger I ever had in my life for sure!! Mushroom Swiss was my choice . And well worth the money spent. 100% Don't pass this place by.

This place was a welcome site! We drove for hours, and then we found Silver Lake Cafe. We walked in and were welcomed like we were locals. The ladies there are awesome. The food was amazing. The service was just as amazing! I had a BLT and onion rings. It was so good. My husband had a cheese burger that he said was delicious. If you find yourself in Silver Lake, stop in. You won't be disappointed. I also give 2 thumbs up for the coffee too.

Real down home food, great service! I was unable to finish my Reuben but the growing (13 YO) grandson finished his chili burger plus a HUGE piece of carrot cake. (Taking my peach pie home )

We stopped here on a recent trip through the area and grabbed lunch. Walked in and was immediately greeted by the waitress with a happy smile. Ordered the Club Sandwich and my travel companion had a hamburger. You better be hungry because the club sandwich is HUGE! Toasted golden brown with generous helpings of meat and veggies. Fries are homemade fresh cut and cooked to perfection. Delicious lunch! No room left over to try the German Chocolate cake but it looked yummy.

This is a slice of Americana, something out of a magazine, stories are written about places like this, characters are drawn here...its like walking onto a movie set with gourmet quality, home spun hand crafted food to the nth degree! The biscuits and sausage gravy melt in your mouth, the 1/2 LB hamburger is delicious being cooked on a flat top as it should be, the Bloody Mary is out of this world with a delicious tang and go ahead, get yourself a Margarita too, the mixes for both are house made and Oh soooo good! I was lucky enough to have 2 meals here, and already look forward to returning to this gem. Make this stop, treat yourself to an incredible meal at the Silver Lake Cafe & Bar. And you'll be supporting a locally owned business, you'll be glad you did...

If you want the best steak you've ever had, Silver Lake Cafe is it! We've had the famous Cowboy Dinner Tree, and the 3lb tomahawk steak here at Silver Lake Cafe is hands down the best I have ever had. I consider myself sort of an expert when it comes to a good steak. I search every small town and big town for the best. You will not be disappointed. I would travel by air just to get one!

We were traveling late and looking for food. As we pulled up I parked my rig in front of the Cafe. I looked to see if I was blocking anyone when a guy with a Mohawk came out and said “We’re open! Come on in and watch the ducks game!” I said I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t blocking anyone and he replied. “I don’t give a shit if you’re parked straight across! Come on in and get some food!” So we did.We walked into the bar and then were told that the kitchen was closed. Bummer. We were getting ready to leave when a very nice lady came out and said. “I hate to send people down the road hungry, do you want something simple to eat? Like chicken strips, corn dogs and fries?” Hell yes we replied. They took us to the dining room and took our order. Corn dogs or chicken strips. My girls all got chicken strips and I got corn dogs. The food came out and it was hot and delicious. The staff was all so friendly. They were all already off for the night but stuck around to feed us. My girls had a great time talking with the local kids.They literally saved us from starving. There isn’t anything else open out there at 9pm and the great food and the company was something we will talk about for years. I imagine when the girls are grown they’ll talk about the guy with a Mohawk who called us into the bar for them to open the kitchen for us. What a fantastic place and wonderful people.

After reading many very positive reviews I had to venture in and experience for myself. It's hard to keep the complainers in perspective. Do they wake up irritated then venture to rain on parades? I was impressed with the handcrafted soup, split pea. And the corned beef sandwich was plentiful, and fresh lettuce and tomatoes. Half will fill me tomorrow.
